Met predicts pre monsoon rain in parts of Gujarat from June 11

Ahmedabad: Surendranagar today recorded highest temperature at 45.5 degree Celsius even as met department has predicted pre monsoon rain in parts of Gujarat on June 11 and 12.
A total of five places saw temperatures in excess of 44 degree Celsius. Rajkot and Gandhinagar recorded 44.6 each, Deesa 44.5, and Ahmedabad 44.1.
Rain related forecast -(Valid from 0830 Hrs. IST of 11/06/2019 to 0830 Hrs. IST of 12/06/2019):-
Light to moderate rain/thundershowers very likely at isolated places in the districts of South Gujarat region namely Valsad, Navsari and in Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli. Dry weather very likely in all the districts of North Gujarat region, Saurashtra, Kutch, remaining districts of South Gujarat region and in Diu.

HIGH TEMPERATURE WARNING:-
June 9 :Heat wave conditions very likely to prevail at isolated pockets in the districts of North Gujarat Region namely Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar; in the districts of Saurashtra-Kutch namely Rajkot, Amreli, Surendranagar and in Kutch.
IMPACT: Moderate temperature. Heat is tolerable for general public but moderate health concern for vulnerable people e.g. infants, elderly, people with chronic diseases.
SUGGESTED ACTIONS: (a) Avoid heat exposure (b) Wear lightweight, light-coloured, loose, cotton clothes, (c) Cover your head: use a cloth, hat or umbrella.
