3 dead, 6 injured as water tank collapses in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad:Three labourers died and six others injured when an old water tank in Bopal area of Ahmedabad suddenly collapsed today.
Collector Vikrant Pandey, who visited the spot, later told newsmen that the tank constructed by Bopal municipality in 1997 collapsed as the land at its base caved in.
Its debris fell on a canteen in the same premises. Four labourers were rescued of whom three died. Another one has been admitted to civil hospital of whom one is critical. Pandey said that they were non Gujarati labourers. A doctor in the Sola civil hospital said that three were brought dead while 6 were under treatment.
The incident took place near Tejas school.
The land has become wet during recent spell of heavy rain.
Earlier 4 of a labourer family had died due to wall collapse in Bopal area during rain recently.
