ACB in central Gujarat nabs Dy Mamlatdar rank circle officer and his broker taking bribe of Rs 5 lakh

Ahmedabad: The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat Police today nabbed a Deputy Mamlatdar rank circle officer and his broker in central Gujarat along with Rs five lakh cash which was part of Rs 10 lakh bribe he had demanded from a man for final entry regarding his land purchase in records.
ACB Assistant Director D P Chudasama said that Circle officer of Deputy mamalatdar rank in the Mamlatdar office in Kheda district headquarter Nadiad, Bhanuprasad M Vaishnav and his broker Liyakat M Pathan were nabbed by an ACB team during a trap.
Vaishnav had sought Rs 10 lakh from the complainant for final entry of his land registry in the documents. His broker Liyakat was receiving Rs 5 lakh as part payment from the complainant while talking to him over phone. He had agreed to take another installment of an equal amount on August 30 after completion of work. The raid was conducted on the secret complaint of the man from whom the bribe was sought.
In another trap in Rajkot today the ACB nabbed licensed surveyor Anil S Chauhan taking a bribe of Rs 5000 from a man for providing the measurement map of his relative’s land survey done by him.
