Sign boards restricting customers to enter the kitchen area in restaurants to be removed
November 07, 2019
Gandhinagar: Customers of restaurants across Gujarat will now be able to enter the kitchen and verify the cleanliness, hygiene and quality of food. This rule will be effective across all food serving facilities, ranging from a common food outlet to a restaurant located in a seven-star hotel. They will need to allow the entry of customers inside the kitchen.
A decision in this regard has been taken by the Food and Drug Control Administration department of the Government of Gujarat on Wednesday, as per a note issued here today.
As per the decision, it will be mandatory for each restaurant to place glass door in kitchen, so that the customers can see the kitchen even from outside. The decision has been conveyed to concerned officials of municipal corporations and municipalities. The officials have been asked to remove the sign boards of ‘no entry’ and ‘entry with permission only’ from kitchen doors.
