84% land acquisition for Dabhoi – Kevadia railway link completed

Vadodara: 84% work of land acquisition for Dabhoi – Kevadia rail link project has been completed by district administration for which more than Rs. 17 crore sum has been paid to land owners, said district collector Shalini Agrawal. Kevadia is now on global tourism map due to world’s tallest statue – the Statue of Unity. Indian Railways has set target to build Kevadia railway station by 30th October this year. Dabhoi – Kevadia railway link once completed will connect Vadodara to Statue of Unity. Vadodara is located on main Mumbai – Delhi rail route.

The process of land acquisition in Vadodara district is underway in 14 villages of Dabhoi taluka under the leadership of Prant Officer Himanshu Parikh. The process is monitored by Chief Minister residence’s staff in real time through CM Dashboard.

Dabhoi – Kevadia rail line project requires acquisition of 6,20,498 square meter land of 14 villages of Dabhoi taluka in Vadodara district. Of this orders for land acquisition of 5,19,207 square meter land have been issued already for which land owners have been paid Rs. 17 crore 91 lakh 99 thousand 468.

Process of acquisition of rest 16% land which equals to 1,01,291 square meter is in final stage, said Collector office. A proposal in this regard under section 19(1) has been sent to State government. Such proposal is eligible for approval 60 days after received which is March 27.
