HM Amit Sah reviews preparations for Namaste Trump event in Gujarat; PM Modi to arrive tomorrow morning

Ahmedabad: Even as Ahmedabad is all decked up for the first ever visit of any US President tomorrow, Home Minister Amit Shah today reviewed the preparations for the ‘Namaste Trump’ event to be held at the reconstructed Sardar Patel Stadium in Motera here, the largest cricket stadium across the world where over 1 lakh people would attend the grand function to be addressed jointly by President Donald Trump and PM Narendra Modi.

Trump would arrive here tomorrow morning and participate in over 20 km long ‘India Road Show’ before participating in the Namste Trump event. Over 11,000 security personnel have been deployed for the two events.

Shah, who is also the president of the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA), that owns the Motera Stadium. He went to the stadium spread over 60 acre of area,today and reviewed the arrangements for Namaste Trump event in which various cultural performances would also be given by reputed artists including sufi singer Kailash Kher.

Meanwhile, the Trustee of Sabarmati Ashram here Amrit Modi said that President Trump would visit the historic ashram. Earlier an uncertainty loomed over it as the official itinerary of president trump did not mention it.

During the road shows, artists would give the glimpses of Indian culture from various stages erected en route. Diversion of routes have also been done in the wake of Trump’s visit.

The US president would be accorded a grand red carpet welcome at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International airport here where he would be received by PM Modi. Later the two leaders would start the road show.

Modi would himself arrive at the Ahmedabad airport tomorrow almost an hour before the arrival of Trump and would later receive him there, informed sources today said.
