Speaker confirms at least four Congress MLAs have resigned, BJP set to win 3 Rajya Sabha seats: Vaghani
March 15, 2020
Gandhinagar: Gujarat BJP chief Jitu Vaghani today said several Congress MLAs have resigned and BJP is all set to win three of four seats of Rajya Sabha in upcoming election.
‘As I came to know through media that some Congress MLAs have resigned, I contacted Speaker Rajendra Trivedi earlier today and he confirmed that by then four Congress MLAs had resigned. Congress lies when it denies that none of its MLA has resigned. Speaker will make announcement on resignations in assembly as the session is on. None of BJP MLAs has resigned. BJP is all set to win three Rajya Sabha seats,’ Vaghani said.
‘Those who resigned yesterday, those who resigned today and those who are going to leave Congress party tomorrow will support BJP ultimately,’ said Vaghani.
‘Congress has realized that its one of two candidates is going to lose. Congress has taken its MLAs to Rajasthan. People in constituencies will question to them, why they didn’t attend assembly session and move to Rajasthan,’ Vaghani further said.
Vaghani said, there’s a tussle going on between two Rajya Sabha candidates of Congress, that who should get more first votes and win. Ideally when they realize that only one of them can win, the other should withdraw nomination. Their internal tussle will result into defeat of Congress in upcoming local and assembly elections.
