Teaching work in schools, colleges suspended across Gujarat during March 16-29, Cinema halls, swimming pools to remain shut

Gandhinagar: The Government of Gujarat has taken a decision to halt teaching work in all schools, tuition classes, anganwadi and colleges across the State from March 16 to March 29. However, Board examinations will continue as per schedule. Teaching and non-teaching staff will attend the colleges and schools but will not do teaching work.
Cinema hall and swimming pools will remain shut during 16-29 March across the State.
In another decision, spitting in public is banned and violation will attract Rs. 500.
These details were shared by Chief Secretary Anil Mukim today.
According to Education Secretary, Dr. Vinod Rao, internal exams in schools will be rescheduled post March 30 and no internal exams of schools will be conducted during March 16 to March 29.
Chief Secretary appealed religious organizations to postpone the gatherings that attract large number of people.
The decisions listed above were taken in a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Rupani and Dy CM Nitin Patel to review the situation pertaining to coronavirus. The State has so far not a single confirmed positive case of coronavirus.
