40 confirmed coronavirus cases in Gujarat

Update: As at 7.00 pm, one more confirmed coronavirus positive case has been found in Rajkot (male-40), which makes the total number of confirmed cases at 39.

At 8.00 pm, one more confirmed case emerges in Vadodara. A 55 year old male who travelled to UK. Was admitted to the isolation ward yesterday.

This makes latest break up: Ahmedabad – 14, Vadodara 8, Surat 7, Gandhinagar 6, Rajkot 3 and Kutch 1.

Earlier in the afternoon

Gandhinagar: The total number of confirmed coronavirus positive cases in Gujarat are 38 which is 3 more compared to yesterday.

The break up is – Ahmedabad – 14, Surat and Vadodara each 7, Gandhinagar 6, Rajkot 2 and Kutch 1.

The state has total 211 quarantine facilities. At present total 20,688 quarantined persons. 430 of them are in government facilities while 20,220 are under home quarantine. 38 are in private quarantine facilities.

FIRs are filed against 147 persons for breach of quarantine protocols.

Surveillance of more than 1.7 crore people has been completed through door-to-door visit and also through phone.

Out of 15,000 foreign returned persons, symptoms were found in over 50 persons. Surveillance and further procedure is on in those cases.
