Shops in four major cities of Gujarat to reopen after 3rd May only

Gandhinagar: The Government of Gujarat today in its communication said that the Municipal Commissioners and District Collectors of four major cities, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat and Rajkot have discussed the issue of reopening of shops with local business associations and consulted the State government for the same. In the backdrop of growing number of Coronavirus cases, the municipal commissioners and collectors of these cities have jointly taken a decision that shops and businesses overall will not be allowed to reopen till 3rd May, the last day of Lockdown period.
Shops offering essential items will be however allowed to operate and reopen.
In other districts and areas, businesses and shops are allowed to operate from April 26. Even in those districts and areas, mall, market complex, hair cutting salon, beauty parlor, paan-cigarate-bidi-masala shops, hotels and restaurants are not allowed to function.
Taxi services, rickshaws, UBER like services, bus services will also not be allowed to start operations, the government communication said.
