Reopening of Gujarat; important announcements today by State government listed here

Gandhinagar: The Government of Gujarat today made announcement that,

-Five cities in Red zone, Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, Gandhinagar and Bhavnagar will not get any relaxations for next two weeks.

-Rajkot which is under Orange zone will also be treated at par with Red zone and strict implementation of lockdown will continue in Rajkot Municipal Corporation area without any fresh relaxation for next two weeks.

-Botad, Bopal, Khambhat, Bareja, Godhra and Umreth municipality areas will also not get any fresh relaxations in lockdown and earlier restrictions will continue.

Which means, essential items and essential services will only be available. Other shops/offices are not permitted to reopen.

– Industrial activities are permitted to reopen in Junagadh and Jamnagar municipal corporation areas and 156 municipalities (barring six listed above) with conditions such as temperature collection of laborers, staggered entry and exit etc applied.

– Barber shops, hair cutting salons, tea shops, beauty parlors are to be allowed to operate in Orange and green zones.

– Taxi and cab services are to be allowed in orange and green zones with provision of one driver and maximum two passengers.

– Green Zone will see resumption of GSRTC bus operations with 50% capacity which means maximum with 30 passengers. If more than 30 passengers are found, the driver and conductor will face strict actions.

– No movement will be permitted during 7 pm to 7 am period. None will be allowed to venture out.

– Paan shops (mava, masala etc) and liquor shops will continue to be closed for at least next two weeks.

The announcements were made by Secretary in Gujarat Chief Minister office Ashwani Kumar during his daily online briefing. The decisions were taken in a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Rupani last evening in light of relaxations announced by the Centre.
