Two Congress MLAs have given resignation last evening which I have accepted: Gujarat Assembly Speaker

Gandhinagar: Gujarat assembly speaker Rajendra Trivedi today told media persons here that two Congress MLAs have resigned from the membership of State assembly and they are no more MLAs.
“Karjan assembly seat MLA Shri Akshaybhai Patel yesterday evening gave his resignation. He was physically present to give his resignation. His voluntary wish and signature was confirmed by me. I asked him to remove his mask for face identification and later accepted his resignation,’ Trivedi said.
‘Later Kaprada MLA Jitubhai Chaudhary came and met me. He also confirmed he was tendering his resignation voluntarily by own wish. I asked him to remove his mask for face identification and confirmed his signature. I have accepted his resignation too,’ Trivedi added.
‘Both are no more MLAs of Gujarat assembly,’ Trivedi further said.
With this, ahead of June 19 polling for four Rajya Sabha seats in Gujarat, total 7 Congress MLAs have tendered their resignations.
