PM Modi may spend time with 100-year old mother Hiraba on his birthday in Gujarat

Gandhinagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit home-state Gujarat on his birthday 17 September this year. Prime Minister during his visit will spend time with his 100-year old mother Hiraben Modi, popularly called as Hiraba, who lives at younger brother Pankaj Modi’s residence in Sargasan area of capital Gandhinagar.
Though there’s no official word on Prime Minister’s visit, it is learnt that Prime Minister may also dedicate a newly constructed UN Mehta hospital in Asarwa area of Ahmedabad, located next to Civil hospital on his birthday. PM was to inaugurate this hospital in March this year, but due to Covid-19 pandemic, the inauguration ceremony and related visit to home-state was postponed. State deputy chief minister Nitin Patel who is also Health minister, on Friday visited UN Mehta hospital to take stock of final stage of works underway.
Patel said, ‘we will on behalf of Gujarat government will invite Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to spare time and inaugurate this hospital and we are preparing for it. This is the seed he sow and now it has become a tree.’
UN Mehta heart institute is run by private owned Torrent group company with aide of the State government. While the main facility of hospital is functional since decades, the new hospital building is expansion project exclusively for the children suffering from heart diseases. Patel said 98 per cent works of new Rs. 300 crore hospital building are completed. The new building was used for Covid care facility due to urgent need but soon it will start operating as children’s heart hospital.
It is also believed that the Prime Minister will attend a ‘National Unity Day’ function at Statue of Unity in Narmada district of Gujarat on 31st of October, the birth anniversary of Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Prime Minister had attended this function last year too. He was in home-state Gujarat on his birthday last year as well. DeshGujarat
