Gujarat govt to move a bill for 30 per cent cut in salary of MLAs, ministers, Speaker

Gandhinagar: The Government of Gujarat will move a bill for 30 per cent cut in basic salary of MLAs, ministers, leader of opposition and Speaker for a year in upcoming assembly session, An ordinance in this regard was already issued in April 2020. A decision of basic salary cut will result into saving of Rs. 6.27 crore for the government which will be utilized over State’s fight against Covid-19 pandemic. The Government has also taken a decision for 30 per cent cut for a year in salary of those retired officers/staffers who have been given contract based appointment. DeshGujarat
