Ahmedabad: NCC Air squadron in Gujarat has got its first Flight Simulator for training of cadets. A Flight Simulator for Zen Micro Light Aircraft was inaugurated here today. Cadets of Air NCC Sqn will be provided firsthand experience of flying Micro Light aircraft on this flight simulator.
Major General Roy Joseph, Additional Director General, NCC Directorate Gujarat, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu inaugurated the first Zen Air Microlight Flight Simulator at 2 Gujarat Air Sqn, Ahmedabad.
For the first time in Gujarat Directorate, two Flight simulators have been installed for the training of cadets at Ahmedabad & Vadodara. This has only been possible due to the continued support and assistance of the State Education Dept. NCC Directorate Gujarat has been operating two types of microlights ZEN Air CH701 and Virus SW80 which are located under Air Units at Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Bhavnagar.
Two flight simulators have become operational at No 1 Gujarat Air Sqn, Vadodara (Virus) and No 2 Gujarat Air Sqn, Ahmedabad (Zen Air). The addition of simulators is a big achievement not only for the Directorate but for the cadets also.
It would benefit the cadets immensely as the flight simulators can help more experienced pilots practice emergency procedures or unusual situations from the safety of the ground and is a blessing for the beginners.
The design and controls of the Flight Simulator are exactly the same as real microlight, in addition all emergencies and weather conditions can be simulated. The Flight Simulator would go a long way in training the air cadets. This will not only broaden their horizons in the field of aviation, it will help them take up a career in the aviation, both in civil and armed forces. Gujarat Directorate continues to strive and to devise new means to train its cadets.
