Prabhas Patan: Pilgrim town Prabhas Patan famous for Jyotirling Somnath Mandir, will also have a mandir of Goddess Parvati, wife of God Shiva. According to Trustee of Shri Somnath Trust, PK Lehri, planning for construction of Goddess Parvati’s mandir was going on for last two years by Shri Somnath Trust. Recently a location to build Parvati temple has been identified and donor has also been found. The temple of Parvati will come up near Yagnashala. It will be fully constructed using white marble. A main donor has been found and he has taken total responsibility of all white marble required to build the temple, its construction and carving. Total cost of the project will be around Rs. 21 crore. Lehri said Somnath temple attracts around one crore visitors annually. Proper planning was required in order to build another temple here. Ultimately it has been decided that the new Parvati temple will come up next to the exit door within the existing temple campus just after Yagnashala. It’s worth noting that the visitors to Somnath temple can spot a plinth of an ancient temple, located next to the main temple. It’s a plinth of ancient Parvati temple which was existing here once upon a time. DeshGujarat
