First building at IIM Ranchi new campus, a world-class Seminar Hall, e-inaugurated by Parimal Nathwani, Rajya Sabha MP

Ranchi/Ahmedabad: Member of Rajya Sabha, Shri Parimal Nathwani today inaugurated the first building of the Indian Institute of Management Ranchi. The building inaugurated today is fully air-conditioned auditorium which has capacity to accommodate about 650 people at a time with all modern IT facilities of audio-video support.IIM Ranchi is celebrating its 12th foundation day tomorrow and it shall be celebrated in its own premises for the first time, thanks to the new building opened today. Till now the Institute was conducting all its small or big events at some hired locations with a lot of restrictions.

Speaking at the inauguration of the new Seminar Hall at IIM, Ranchi, Shri Parimal Nathwani, Rajya Sabha MP said, “It is moment of great pride for me to inaugurate this world-class Seminar Hall at one of India’s top management institute, the Indian Institute of Management, Ranchi. This most modern facility built at a total cost of Rs 13.56 crore from my Member of Parliament Local Area Development (MPLAD) funds has a 650-seating capacity auditorium spread over nearly 40,000 square feet. Since inception IIM-R curriculum has focused on bridging the gap between what is taught at a management institute and what is actually needed by businesses. This Seminar Hall will be the bridge between academia and the corporate world. I hope to see it emerge as a major learning centre where top CEOs, industry experts & management Gurus from India and world-over can come and teach, interact & share their knowledge with students and faculty members here.”

“The contract for developing the IIM Ranchi campus was awarded in the year 2018 and within two years Institute has got its first building inaugurated today, for which credit goes to all the team members, contractor and the consultants.” The Director IIM Ranchi mentioned in his address while talking to the people in the event. IIM Ranchi has achieved this milestone even after many challenges, major being the Corona Crises, lock down etc. Today’s event has proved the importance of will-power to make the things to happen as we desire. Even on the day of Inauguration public gathering is restricted for health and safety reasons, but where there is a will there is a way. Institute has got the inauguration done through online mode.

Nathwali who has extended moral and financial support for IIM Ranchi’s building expected the building to become great temple of learning for the country and world at large. IIM Ranchi in a note said, Shri Nathwani’s emotional attachment with Institute and his guidance will always be needed in future for its growth, for achieving its other goals and objectives in the process of National building.The Chairman of Board of Governors of IIM Ranchi Praveen Panya has expressed his gratitude for the support provided by Nathwani and expressed his feelings to keep his association with the Institute and also to visit the Institute physically after the country defeats corona and people feel safe worldwide and as per his convenience.

IIM Ranchi further in its note said it has given a call to other such noble personalities and organizations in the Jharkhand and also from the Country at large to come forward to support this temple of learning in building up the better infrastructure for the effective learning. ‘The Institute has a pledge for making the state of Jharkhand and India for being recognized worldwide for having better professionals passing out from this Institute in Future. The growth of the people is the growth of the society and country at large. The officials of the Institute have been seen very delighted and excited by getting their first building functional and that also being the prestigious auditorium of the Institute. This auditorium will become a meeting ground for the intellectuals from India and abroad. This auditorium in future will host, on its floor many intellectual discussions and meetings ensuring quality in learning management study and management research.’
