How to Reach Statue of Unity at Kevadia from Ahmedabad ? : Distance, Duration, Flights, Buses, Trains, Everything you need to know

Ahmedabad: The Statue of Unity is the tallest statue in the world located at Kevadiya in Central Gujarat. It is one of the fastest emerging tourist destinations with other attractions such as a Jungle Safari – Zoological park, rafting, bicycle riding, glow garden, Sardar Sarovar Narmada dam etc that have been already added and even more attractions are being added.
Though Vadodara is the nearest airport and it is also located on Delhi – Mumbai main railway line, Ahmedabad, the commercial capital of Gujarat is more connected with number of flights and trains to the rest of the parts of the country. In this article, we discuss the modes of transport available from Ahmedabad city to travel to Kevadia Colony – Statue of Unity.
Seaplane
The fastest way to reach the Statue of Unity at Kevadia from Ahmedabad is via the seaplane service operated by SpiceJet. The first flight departs from the Sabarmati Riverfront, Ahmedabad at 11:00 AM and reaches the Statue of Unity, Kevadia at 11:50 PM and the second flight departs at 2:00 PM from Ahmedabad and reaches Kevadia at 2:50 PM. The schedule of return-flights from Kevadia to Sabarmati Riverfront, Ahmedabad is 12:15 PM to 1:05 PM and 3:15 PM to 4:05 PM. In Ahmedabad, a water aerodram is located at Sabarmati Riverfront (West) in Paldi area. As maintenance facility for Seaplane is not available in India as of now, the plane after certain miles of flying goes to Maldives for maintenance and certifications. Railways
Another way to reach the Statue of Unity at Kevadia from Ahmedabad is via train which takes around 3 hours. The train Jan Shatabdi Express (09247/49) runs daily between Ahmedabad Junction and Kevadiya. The train runs twice-a-day on a regular basis. It departs from Ahmedabad Junction at 7:55 AM and reaches Kevadia at 10:40 AM and it departs again at 3:20 PM from Ahmedabad and reaches Kevadia at 6:20 PM. It halts at Vadodara Junction. This train has also Vistadome coaches. Online booking can be made through Indian Railway’s website www.irctc.co.in and through other platforms including MakeMyTrip, ixigo, Paytm and more.
Buses
Around six GSRTC buses run daily between Ahmedabad and Kevadia including one AC Volvo, three Express and two Gurjarnagri buses. Volvo is the fastest among the three services as it takes around four hours to reach Kevadia from Ahmedabad. The trip via Volvo may cost around 400 INR per person and rest of the services cost less than 150 INR. The Volvo departs at 6:40 AM from Ahmedabad Central Bus Station, Gita Mandir Rd and reaches Kevadiya Colony at 10:00 AM. For the return-trip, it departs from Kevadia at 3:40 PM and reaches back to Ahmedabad at 7:00 PM. Bookings can be made through www.gsrtc.in or through Redbus, Paytm, MakeMyTrip and more.
By car
It takes around 3.30 to 5 hours to reach Kevadia from Ahmedabad through Car or Self-drive. The distance between the two locations is roughly 200 km via Ahmeabad – Vadodara expressway (toll tax levied).
