Sabarmati: Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) today in a note said there are over 108 private hospitals that are functioning in the city as designated Covid hospitals. In latest developments:

– Sushilaben Mansukhbhai Shah (SMS) multi specialty hospital’s 240 beds, Gujarat Cancer Society’s 160 beds have been reserved for AMC quota patients.

– Additional 500 beds at AMC run SVP hospital are to be allotted to Covid19 patients. When presently admitted non-covid patients recover, the beds vacant after their discharge will be converted to Covid beds.

– 500-bed Covid care centre has been created at Samras hostel, Memnagar while 120-bed covid care centre has been created at Sports Authority of Gujarat, Thakkarbapanagar.

– 850 additional beds in hospitals at Asarwa medicity civil hospital campus have been reserved for Covid patients.

– 281 additional beds of private hospitals have been made available for Covid patients.

Applications from as many as 1900 nursing homes/hospitals will be received and valid nursing homes shall be approved as designated hospitals. Thus total 2700 beds have been increased for Covid patients in a day, said AMC note. DeshGujarat
