Another cases of “Love Jihad” emerges in Vadodara; three accused nabbed

Vadodara: One more love-jihad case has emerged in Vadodara city in which an accused allegedly forced religious conversion to his Hindu wife after registered marriage with her.

The victim woman has registered a complaint at Fatehgunj Police Station and alleged that her husband Mohib Imtiazkhan Pathan forced her to adopt Islam and tortured her for the same. She also added that her husband, brother-in-law and father-in-law tortured her. She alleged that her brother-in-law molested her in absence of her husband.

Fatehgunj Police have registered crime under Section-4(A) of Gujarat Freedom of Religion (Amendment) Act 2021 ( known as Anti-love jihad law ) and nabbed the three accused namely Mohib Pathan (Husband), Mohsinkhan Pathan (Brother-in-law) and Imtiazakhan (Father-in-law).

The victim woman informed the police that she had registered-marriage with the accused Mohib Pathan after he permitted her to remain Hindu after the marriage. Though he forced her to adopt Islam, changed her name and threw-away photographs of Hindu Gods and Goddesses which she had brought with her after getting married.

Complainant woman added that her brother-in-law Mohsinkhan Pathan molested her in absence of her husband and Father-in-law Imtiazkhan beat her when she asked for money for delivery during her pregnancy along with her husband and brother-in-law.

After childbirth, her husband forcefully converted the son’s Hindu name into Muslim name and he beat the victim when she opposed the same. Further investigation will be done by the police regarding this case. DeshGujarat
