Narmada Maiya bridge in Bharuch to open on Rath Yatra day

Bharuch: Much delayed Narmada Maiya bridge over river Narmada in Bharuch will be inaugurated on auspicious day of Ashadhi Bij which falls on July 12. The bridge is located parallel to over 100 years old Golden bridge. Ground breaking for construction of this bridge was performed by then Chief Minister Anandiben Patel in December 2015. It will be inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel.
– This is the longest 2.5km bridge in Bharuch district.
– It brings relief to over 40,000 vehicles that travel daily, (30,000 through Golden Bridge and 10,000 through sardar bridge)
– It will save Rs 25 of toll fee
– It will reduce the distance by 10 km
– The bridge will make Bharuch-Ankleshwar’s twin city dream come true.
– The bridge was supposed to be completed in 2018, but with a change in design, the 790-meter flyover from Sheetal Circle was extended. This and other reasons resulted in to delayed completion.
– Part of bridge over the river Narmada 1.465 km
– Bharuch side length of extension approach is 0.730 km
– Part of the approach road towards Ankleshwar is 1.99km
