Amit Shah dedicates development works in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurates several development works in the areas of Ahmedabad that fall under his Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency. Among the works readied by Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) , Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA) and Western Railways, dedicated today are water distribution works to cover the needs of drinking water for next thirty years (15 over head water tanks and 100 km long pipeline), a two-storey Rs. 7 crore new modern library with 168 seats capacity, a city civic center in Bopal, a new community hall named after Chanakya in Vejalpur area of city. Shah in his addressed wished to make Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency area as the most developed constituency area of the country.
Shah while speaking about a yagna of development under the leadership of Narendrabhai said he has studied the inspiring leaders behind development from world over and found that there are two types of such leaders. One who believe in status quo and come for inauguration, and the others who try very dedicatedly to perform best during their tenure.
Shah went on to say, ‘but there’s third type of leader, and Narendrabhai perhaps the first, who would arrange the system in such a away that good of public will continue to even after they leave.
Shah recalled his tenure as MLA in 1990s and said there were dusty roads in Ambli area of Bopal in Ahmedabad and we would think, it will take very long to achieve development in this area. But now, the area is so developed that we can’t differentiate where Ahmedabad limits ended.
Shah said the schemes worth Rs 100 crores are approved by the government in developing area of Bopal-Ambli without any special demand or agitation by the public of this area. Schemes for distribution of drinking water are initiated based on the assessment of population growth in this area for the upcoming 30 years. Ultra-modern library is built for youth belonging to the middle-class so that they can read peacefully and shape their careers. Ultra-modern civic centre is built for ease of people in carrying government works at local level.
The development initiatives inaugurated by the Home Minister Amit Shah today include water distribution station built at cost of Rs 21.54 crores in Sabarmati ward of west-zone by AMC, water distribution station in Navavadaj ward built at cost of Rs 12 crores, Community hall in Gota ward built at a cost of Rs 9.19 crores, party plot and community hall in Vejalpur ward built at a cost of Rs 8.26 crores, Sub zonal office built at cost of Rs 2.72 crore, library with capacity of 168 students in Bopal built at cost of Rs 6.90 crores by AUDA and civic centre built at a cost of Rs 4 crores.
In addition, e-inauguration of passengers’ facilities by Western Railway in Ambli Road, Khodiyar and Chandlodia railway station and newly developed Kalupur Railway station of Ahmedabad with heritage city was also done by him. The Khatmuhurta of development initiatives done by the Home Minister includes TP 1, 2 and 3 near Ghuma area by AUDA and water supply project near Telav.
