Robot Cafe in Science City amazes visitors

Ahmedabad: The recently inaugurated Robot Café at Robotic Gallery in Science-city, Ahmedabad is attracting overwhelming response from visitors. In this Café, the only in India, the robots perform all the tasks including taking orders, cooking and serving various food-items.
The visitors have to select the seats by accessing a touchscreen and enter the number of desired seats. Then, the food is prepared by robot chefs in open kitchen and served by robot waiters as per the order given by visitors.
The café is of 40 people capacity. A menu of the items served by robots includes tea, coffee, red pasta, schezwan fried rice, dal khichdi and masala dosa.
Four robot waiters serve tea and snacks in the café. It is the first robot café here where all tasks are performed by robots.
The robot waiters identify right table for delivery of order through digit/number of the table. Children especially get amazed when a white, human-size robot comes to their table and deliver the items.
The robotic gallery built at a cost of Rs 127 crores and spread across 1100 square meters is attracting many visitors due to exhibition of ultra-modern robotic technology. The robotic gallery includes more than 200 robots of 79 types. The robots also perform task of welcoming the visitors and guiding them by providing various information of the gallery.
Amay, a 12-year old boy who visited the cafe said he was feeling like he was part of some science fiction dream venue. Amay’s mother said, such a place could be enjoyed only by visiting foreign countries previously, but now same experience is available here domestically.
