Gandhinagar: Dhiru Gajera, a former BJP and former Congress politician will rejoin BJP in presence of Gujarat BJP chief CR Patil on July 24 at party’s Surat headquarters. Gajera had rebelled against then Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and left the party to join Congress in year 2007. Some 30 Patidars (Patels) including Gajera had rebelled against BJP and contested assembly elections as Congress candidates. They had made year 2007 general elections of Gujarat assembly interesting. However, as Gajera now admits, he and all others who rebelled  were unsuccessful in elections. A businessman based in Surat with origins in Saurashtra, Gajera remained unsuccessful to win assembly election on four different occasions as Congress candidate. He was vice president of Gujarat Congress when he left the party long back. He is now rejoining BJP.
