Bhikhabhai Dhameliya to donate Rs. 30 crore for construction of Parvati Mandir at Somnath

Prabhas Patan: Surat based diamond businessman Bhikhabhai Keshubhai Dhameliya has donated an amount of Rs 30 crores for the construction of Parvati Mandir close to Somnath Mandir in Prabhas Patan.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday performed virtual foundation stone laying of Pravati Mandir. PM Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and CM Vijay Rupani appreciated the generosity of Bhikhabhai Dhameliya during the function. He had earlier in 2012 donated a plate made of over 108 kgs of gold to Somnath temple. The Parvati Mandir is going to be built from Aaras pahan marble from North Gujarat. It is estimated that the temple will be ready within three and a half years. It will have a 71 feet top and nritya mandap with 44 carved pillars.
Bhikhabhai Dhameliya had pledged for the construction of Parvati Mandir during his visit to Somnath Temple, it is learnt after he saw a plinth remain of ancient Parvati temple located next to the present Somnath temple. Bhikhabhai has 3 diamond factories in Surat in which around 5 thousand workers are employed. He along with his family joined the program of foundation stone laying of Parvati Mandir in Prabhas Patan.
