Pillar work for Surat Metro train project may start in October this year

Surat: Works are in progress for metro-train project of Surat. The installation of pillars for the route between Sarthana to DREAM city will begin from October.
The soil-testing work for the underground route between Kapodra to Kadarsha Ni Nal has reached the final stage for the first phase of Sarthana to DREAM city metro-train project. The works such as soil testing and testing for the pile of elevated route between Kadrasha Ni Nal to DREAM city are underway and likely to complete within a month. The installation of pillars will begin in October after the same. The entire project would cost around Rs 12 thousand crores.
The work of Metro-Station will also possibly kick off at Sarthana convention centre within 8 to 10 days. The work of the elevated route of 11 kms is allotted to a joint venture agency of Sadbhav and Shingala companies who have started the work with Patel infra company. Around 3 thousand piles will be needed for this route. The agencies have employed 700 to 800 workers and around 10 rig machines for this work.
