August 30, 2021
Jamnagar: Amid poor monsoon and possibility of shortage of water, a local MLA of Congress party from Kalavad, Pravin Muchhadiya has alleged and claimed that the desalination plant project to be developed at Jodiya taluka in Jamnagar hasn’t achieved any progress for the last 3 years. State government had made a contract with Essel Infraprojects Limited in 2018 and planned to set-up the plant within 30 months.
The state government had planned to set-up a desalination plant at a cost of Rs 800 crores in Jodiya taluka of Jamnagar. Gujarat CM Vijaybhai Rupani had declared about the same in a function on 4th March 2019. The state government had declared that desalination of 10 crore litre seawater per day will be done through this plant and potable water will be supplied to the public of Morbi, Jamnagar and Rajkot.
