Vatan Prem Yojana to have dedicated portal, bank account

Gandhinagar: Gujarat government has decided to open a dedicated bank account and facility for payment of donation through a portal for Vatan Prem yojana which was launched recently by union home minister Amit Shah.
The Gujaratis living abroad can contribute 60 per cent to development works in native village, while the State government will add 40 per cent amount to it under Vatan Prem yojana.
Chief minister Rupani on September 4 chaired the first meeting of Governing body of the scheme. The State government has set a target to do Rs. 1,000 crore works by December 2022 under this scheme.
A separate call centre will also come up to facilitate the donors. The names of donors will be put on plaque after completion of works.
Some of works listed are construction of class rooms in schools, community hall, CCTV camera, surveillance system, library, primary health centre, mid-day meal kitchen, water tank, crematorium, anganwadi, solar street lighting etc. DeshGujarat
