Afghanistan origin drug consignments caught at Mundra Port

Bhuj: Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) on Wednesday seized two shipping containers at CFSTG Terminals Pvt Ltd on Mundra Port, arrived from landlocked Afghanistan via coastal Iran containing heroine in garb of talcum stone powder. The consignment was headed to Aashi Trading Company in Vijayawada, it is learnt. DRI was separating talcum powder and heroine to come to conclusion on exact value of consignment.
It is learnt that there are four containers of marble powder (talcum stone powder). DRI had yesterday opened two of them. Out of 38 bags, one was opened and the substance was analyzed. It was confirmed that a bag was containing Heroine. Each bag is 150 kg in size. Even if one fourth of total number of bags contain heroine, it will be a record break recovery. Estimated catch in that case may eventually match as high as Rs. 2,000 crore value in international market. Official announcement from DRI is awaited. DeshGujarat
