Rumor spreading and paid news, says Nitin Patel on certain news reports about him
September 17, 2021
Gandhinagar: Former Deputy Chief Minister Nitinbhai Patel, during his interview with a local news-channel, rejected the fake news spread in section of media that he had held meeting with former Gujarat CM and Leader of Opposition in 13th Gujarat Legislative Assembly Shankersinh Vaghela recently after the resignation of former Gujarat CM Vijaybhai Rupani and council of ministers.
Patel said that such reporting in media is merely a rumour spread with an intention of harming his reputation and the responsible person should apologize for the same.
He said, “There is no lack of people spreading rumours. I feel bad that several friends in media spread such fake rumours without verification or inquiry. There are many paid people who are told that they will be paid some amount for spreading such information about ‘Nitinbhai’. So, one might have posted such information after getting payment from another to harm the reputation of Nitinbhai among the society and Karyakars. I can’t claim that the media is objective and entirely works with honesty as per my long experience.”
He added, “The person who spread rumour that I met Shankersinhji through social media platform or news-channel has done it with ill-intentions, without verification and after being influenced by fake people. Such people should actually make clarification, apologize and confess that their information or news were fake.” DeshGujarat
