Rickshaw fare increased in Gujarat with effect from November 5

Gandhinagar: In response to a demand raised by the registered associations of auto rickshaws, the Government of Gujarat has decided to increase the fares of rickshaws in the State.
According to Transport minister Purnesh Modi, the minimum fare (meter downing cost) has been increased from Rs. 15 to Rs. 18, while per km fare (running fare) has been increased from Rs. 10 to Rs. 13. Waiting charge shall be Re. 1 per minute instead of Re. 1 per 5 minutes.
The hike will be effective from 5 November across the State in view of increase in fuel prices.
