Dwarka Police recovers major chunk of narcotics; Three nabbed

Dwarka: Devbhoomi Dwarka Police has recovered 17.651 kg narcotics worth over Rs. 88.25 crore as per global market estimated value in 19 packets. There were 19 packets in this consignment. The substance is identified as mafidrin and heroin. Scrutiny of substance in 47 more packets is underway.
Dwarka is coastal location situated next to Arabian Sea and Police has not denied possibility of arrival of this stock of narcotics through sea route from Pakistan.
One person Shehzad, who is resident of Mumbai has been held by police. He was in possession of this consignment. Shehzad had three bags – two suitcases and one school bag in which he was carrying drugs. He claimed he was into vegetable business in Mumbai. When questioned he said he had taken this consignment from Salim Kara and Ali Kara of Salaya. He was to take this consignment to Mumbai. He had stayed in a local Aarti guest house here in Gujarat to receive consignment. Police nabbed him from a location close to Aradhna Dham.
When Police searched at the house of Kara, another 47 packets were found from Salim and Ali Kara. Salim had faced NDPS, Arms act and fake currency note cases in the past also. Ali has also criminal history. Shehzad was also accused of murder in the past. The content in 47 packets found from Kara’s place is yet to be measured. More details are awaited on this development. According to Police officials, this is perhaps the largest value of narcotics recovered by Police in Gujarat.
