Season of Diksha ceremonies: 75 become Jain monks, 109 to become BAPS monks in Gujarat

Surat: A total 109 youth including 19 from Surat will take diksha on the occasion of the 100th birth anniversary of Pramukh Swami Maharaj on 7th December at his birthplace Chansad village in Vadodara. Their Viday Samarambh was held on Sunday at Adajan temple in which a large number of devotees had remained present. They will take diksha at the hands of Mahant Swami Maharaj. Out of the 19 young men from Surat to take diksha, 15 are graduates and one is the only child of his parents.
In the Jain diksha festival named sinhsatvotsav in Surat, a total 75 persons took diksha today. The diksha vidhi was held at 4.41 am in the early morning. The monks were given new names in namkaran vidhi at 11.16 am. Over 10000 persons performed sakar arpan to them within 3 days.
