Gujarat govt mulls extra 100 hours education to school students

Gandhinagar: The state education department has decided to provide an extra 100 hours education to the students till April 2022 to recover the damages to the studies of class 1 to 12 due to the pandemic.
The schools had to remain closed and switch to online education due to the covid-19 pandemic for a long this year and even last year. To recover the damages to the studies due to the same, the state education department has decided to start a campaign in which the education for extra 100 hours will be given to the students of all the government, private and granted schools.
Under this initiative, the teachers of primary, secondary and higher secondary schools will voluntarily contribute extra time for teaching the students. The government had conducted a meeting with the teachers union of primary, secondary and higher secondary school teachers and unanimously took this decision. Over 2 lakh teachers will join this campaign.
Total 43540 government, private and granted primary schools of class 1 to 8 and total 12445 government, private and granted schools of class 9 to 12 will provide extra 100 hour education to the students under this campaign. DeshGujarat
