AMC Standing Committee approves Rs. 235 crore Gandhi Ashram project

Sabarmati: Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC)’s standing committee meeting held today approved Rs. 235 crore works under Gandhi Ashram Precinct Development Project.
The work of naming the a new foot-river bridge between Vivekanand bridge and Sardar Bridge on the Sabarmati river as ‘Atal Foot-over bridge’ (pedestrian bridge) also received approval in the meeting. This river bridge is likely to be inaugurated within a month.
The meeting also approved procurement of high resolution satellite image of 760 square km area of Ahmedabad city and its surrounding with 5% cloud cover for preparing topographical map for making a strategic comprehensive master plan of sewerage and storm water line network in Ahmedabad mega city, study of watershed and drainage pattern, and digital elevation map at a cost of Rs 45 lakh.
The meeting also approved the project of setting up a party plot in front of Ornet park on Sindhubhavan road at a cost of Rs 742 lakh. DeshGujarat
