BJP MLA Babu Jamna Patel is new President of Unjha Umiya Mataji Sansthan Trust

Gandhinagar: Babubhai Patel, better known as Babu Jamna, a ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from Daskroi assembly seat in Ahmedabad district has become the new President of Shri Umiya Mataji Sansthan – Unjha Trust. He has replaced outgoing President Manibhai Patel (Mummy) who had completed his term. Babu Jamna is also the Chairman of Umiyadham Sola development-temple construction committee of Shri Umiya Mataji Sansthan – Unjha.
Speculations were rife from yesterday itself about his possible takeover of leadership position of trust with a donation of Rs. 31 crore. Shri Umiya Mataji Sansthan Trust looks after various activities of Kadva Patidar community including the operations of the main Umiya temple in Unjha. Goddess Umiya is Kuldevi of Kadva Patidar community.
Vice President of outgoing governing body of trust Prahlad Ambalal Patel (Kameshwar) from Ahmedabad was other contender for the post. Dilip Manilal Patel (Netaji) from Unjha who is secretary of Umiya Sansthan said the executive meeting was held and new office bearers were appointed. Prahladbhai withdrew his nomination and therefore Babubhai Patel became president unopposed. Two vice presidents Gatorbhai Patel and Prahladbhai Patel were also elected unopposed along with Dilipbhai Patel as Secretary.
Babu Jamna in his briefing to media persons spoke in detail about Sola campus development project. He said Rs. 1500 crore project at Sola in Ahmedabad involves construction of a temple, hostel for students, 2,000 cars parking, party plot, hospital, token-rate lodging and boarding for visitors among other facilities.
