Wadhwan remains closed during last rites of martyre Army jawan

Surendranagar: The last rites of Jaypalsinh Bhupatsinh Barad, a Lance Naik in the Indian army, martyred due to snakebite on duty took place with Guard of Honour in his native Wadhwan in Surendranagar.

Jaypalsinh Bhupatsinh Barad, from Kharva Ni Pol in Wadhwan, martyred after a snakebite during his duty at Khavda in Kutch district of Gujarat. His mortal remains were brought to Wadhwan from Ahmedabad airport on Friday morning. Wadhwan town voluntarily remained closed on the day of his last rites. A large number of people including political and social leaders joined the antim yatra. The cremation was performed at the hand of his son.

Jaypalsinh Bhupatsinh Barad, was born on 19th September 1991. He joined the Indian Army in 2010. He got his first posting after training at Jammu. He served as Lance Naik in Bhuj. He had got a snake bite on 23rd February on duty in Khavda in Bhuj. He was then admitted to a hospital in Pune for urgent treatment where he passed away. The mortal remains were brought to Ahmedabad via flight from Pune. A large number of people from the Karadiya Rajput community had reached Ahmedabad to accept his mortal remains. A vir shahid shradhdhanjali program was also organised to pay tribute to him at Rajput Samaj Bhavan in Kharva Ni Pol.
