English to be introduced in class 1 and 2 in schools: Vaghani

Gandhinagar: State education minister Jitu Vaghani declared in the state assembly that English will be included as a subject for class 1 and class 2 in the state. It will be in force from the next academic year, he informed.
He further informed that PM Modi had suggested during his recent visit to the state, to celebrate the birthdays of the schools of the state. CM Bhupendra Patel has decided to implement it and instructed the education department, he added.
He stated that there are 754 schools with one teacher in the state and the teachers are arranged from nearby schools for them. He said further that the teachers are provided from nearby schools to 583 schools and there are less than 20 students in 171 primary schools.
