Gujarat govt to include Bhagavad Gita in school syllabus

Gandhinagar: The Government of Gujarat has announced its decision to include Bhagavad Gita in school curriculum from academic year 2022-23.
Education minister Jitubhai Vaghani said – ‘values and principles from Bhagavad Gita will be introduced to the students of class 6 to 12’.
‘While in class 6 to 8, we will introduce Bhagavad Gita through story-telling and story-reading forms, in class 9 to 12 we will introduce it in the first language text books through story reading and writing.’
Vaghani said, Gita based shlok gan, shlok purti, elocution, essay, play, painting and quiz will also be introduced through competitions.
