ACB Gujarat nabs Dy Engineer of PGVCL in bribe case

Rajkot: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Gujarat has nabbed a deputy engineer of PGVCL in Vinchhiya, Rajkot district along with another person in a bribe case of Rs 60,000.
The accused deputy engineer Devendra Khushalsinh Dantla had alleged that the complainant had done electricity theft by direct wiring. He had allegedly said about filing a crime of electricity theft against him and threatened him of Rs 5 lakh penalty and imprisonment. He had demanded a bribe of Rs 2,00,000 for not filing a crime. The amount was first reduced to Rs 80,000 and then to Rs 60,000 after arguments. The complainant contacted ACB as he was not willing to pay the bribe.
The other accused Ajaybhai Javerbhai Dabhi was found accepting a bribe of Rs 60,000 from the complainant on behalf of the accused deputy engineer during a trap executed by ACB. ACB has detained the accused.
