Amit Shah inaugurates Gujarat’s first Audiology Speech & Language College

Gandhinagar: Gujarat becomes the fifth state in India to have an Audiology Speech Language Pathology College to treat the patients suffering from congenital hearing loss, hearing disorders, speech issues arising from neurotic disorders, patients suffering from paralysis and cerebral stroke. Home Minister of India and Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) from Gandhinagar, Amit Shah visited the GMERS campus (Sola Civil) today and inaugurated the Audiology Speech Language Pathology College and canteen of the hospital campus.

Shah who was on a one day visit to Gujarat inaugurated the college and canteen in the presence of the Chief Minister of Gujarat Bhupendra Patel, Health Minister Hrishikesh Patel, Health Minister (State) Nimishaben Suthar. The college will offer the course named B.ASLP (Bachelor of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology), which will be a three year paramedical course with one additional year of internship. The course will have 20 seats per academic year.

The canteen started in front of Block ‘C’ of the Sola Civil campus will offer hygienic food free of cost to the relatives of the patients admitted in the hospital. DeshGujarat
