Feasibility report for Kalpsar project likely by December this year: Gujarat minister

Gandhinagar: Water resources minister Rushikesh Patel today said that proposed Kalpsar project over the gulf of Cambay is first of its type in the world and therefore research and study is required. The project is at the stage of feasibility report preparation, he added.
The minister said, the proposed project of building a dam over Gulf of Khambhat under Kalpsar project is worth Rs. 1.10 lakh crore. Feasibility report for the same has been sent to Ministry of Earth Science in Delhi. The report is likely to be out by December 2022, the minister added.
Minister of State for Water resources, Jitubhai Chaudhary said that Rs. 216 crore expenditure has been made for various studies related to this project and other things.
The minister explaining the benefits of this project stated that 70 to 80 km long saline area will be revamped through this project in 1,20,000 hectare area. It will resolve the issue of irrigation and drinking water issues along with development of tourism. DeshGujarat
