Surat gets robot for fire fighting

Surat: The dedication of fire fighting robot, foam cum water tender, fire engine and water bowser purchased by Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) for fire & emergency services and inauguration of a software developed for fire NOC took place in Chowk Bajar Killa compound in Surat at the hands of Surat mayor Hemali Bogahwala today.
The fire fighting robot is purchased at a cost of Rs 1.42 crore. It will help to combat fire in the areas where the fire-fighting vehicles can not easily reach and there is risk in fire fighting by the fire-fighters. It will help to give information of the trapped persons in fire accident calls through tools such as modern thermal imaging cameras.
Total 3 foam cum water tenders are purchased at a cost of Rs 2.49 crore, 2 fire engines at a cost of Rs 2.92 crore and 2 water bowsers at a cost of Rs 2.44 crore. They will help for fire fighting in the fire accidents at areas such as industries and highrise buildings in the city. DeshGujarat
