Will speak on question of joining BJP at appropriate time: Ashwin Kotwal

Gandhinagar: Amit speculations that he is going to join ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) soon, opposition Congress MLA Ashwin Kotwal who represents Khedbrahma (ST) assembly seat in Sabarkantha district of North Gujarat today called on Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. When asked by media persons after the meeting, whether he is going to join BJP or not, Kotwal said he would speak on this at appropriate time.

Kotwal had been the Chief Whip of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP). He was later removed from this post and replaced with another party MLA. He was hoping to become the leader of opposition, however in February this year, Congress party rejigged its legislator party office bearers team in which Kotwal was declared as one among six spokespersons of CLP. Kotwal’s son Yash is president of Vijaynagar taluka panchayat.

Speculations are rife since last month that Kotwal, a three-time MLA of Congress party will join ruling BJP. Gujarat is going to witness general elections of State assembly in December this year. DeshGujarat
