Hardik Patel goes critical about Congress and AAP, soft on BJP in series of TV interviews
April 13, 2022
Gandhinagar: Gujarat Congress’s working president Hardik Patel today gave interviews to number of Gujarati news channels in which he was seemingly soft on BJP but critical about Congress and Aam Admi Party (AAP).
Hardik had last month announced agitation from March 28 over various issues, but he didn’t do anything around and after that date. The Supreme Court has stayed conviction against Hardik Patel in Visnagar violence case, which makes it possible for Hardik to contest the elections. Political pundits believe that without the BJP government going soft on him, Hardik couldn’t get relief from the Supreme Court.
Political pundits have started connecting the dots to conclude that Hardik may eventually switch to BJP, fold ahead of general elections of State assembly, that are likely to take place in December this year.
Hardik has today in his TV interviews criticized AAP for its boasting over just handful of good schools in Delhi, while most of the Delhi govt run schools are in ordinary or poor condition. Hardik has also criticized Congress party for “insulting” Khodaldham Trust chairman Naresh Patel by delaying the decision to induct him and spread wrong news about him. Hardik has in his interviews also conveyed that Congress party uses Patidars for the elections. Going against the party-line adopted by Rahul Gandhi, Hardik has in his interviews termed party’s policy of neglecting those who leave the party improper. Hardik said, ‘when someone leaves Congress party, our leaders say, let them go if they want to go … but such approach is improper. One man can be wrong, two can be wrong, but when 16 party MLAs leave the party, they one has to think that we can’t simply say let them go. They must be heard. Solution needs to be brought out.’ Hardik’s this stand goes against party leader Rahul Gandhi’s directive at Dwarka meeting recently. Rahul had taken the line that anyone who wants to leave the party may leave. DeshGujarat
