May 20, 2022
New Delhi: The Ministry of Home Affairs of the central government has launched a helpline number- 1930, for redressal of cyber crimes.
The victims of cyber crime can dial the cyber emergency number 1930 and get help on an urgent basis. The helpline number is especially useful for the cases of cyber frauds. A ticket number is sent to the registered mobile number of the victim. The victim can directly file a complaint at the police station of his district or city using the ticket number. A special center is set-up at Gandhinagar for it. The tie-up is made with nationalised banks, reserve bank of India and national portal for cyber emergency.
The employee on duty will pick up the call when a person dials the number and he/she will hand over the call to the cyber expert officer after learning all details. Later, the cyber expert officer will get necessary evidence, and stop the withdrawal of the debited money from his/her bank account by connecting with the bank, in cyber fraud cases. DeshGujarat
