Banaskantha: A mobile application by the name of ‘Dani Data’ has become talk of the town in Banaskantha district after it swindled Rs 125 crore from lakhs of people who invested their money in this app on the promise of doubling it in the shortest possible time.

People who came into contact with each other would share the link for the app, which promised to double people’s money quickly. After receiving crores of rupees from people in the greed that it would be doubled in no time, the app was closed down. Of the Rs 125 crores that ‘Dani Data’ was able to raise in Banaskantha district, people from Dhanera have lost Rs 15 cores and people from Tharad have been duped of Rs 10 crore.

Friends would share the link for the app with each other and would invest their money in it in the greed of making a fast buck without having to make any special efforts or expertise to earn money.

The app in turn would use this money to place bets on cricket and football matches while crediting a certain amount along with interest in the application balance. The system also had a feature that allowed the user of the app to transfer this balance to his or her bank account.
