Gujcomasol polls: BJP candidates to contest against each other on 4 seats
June 09, 2022
Gandhinagar: The official candidates of the BJP for the upcoming Gujarat State Co-operative Marketing Federation (Gujcomasol) will be contesting against BJP rebels on at least 4 of the total 32 seats, including in CR Patil’s parliamentary constituency of Navsari. The other seats where BJP-mandated candidates will be in a close contest with party rebels are Patan, Surendranagar and Jamnagar.
On Wednesday, which was the last day for withdrawing nomination forms, the fate of 25 of the 32 seats has already been decided. Polls will now be held only for 7 seats of which 4 seats are those where the BJP party rebels have refused to withdraw from the contest.
In Navsari, the BJP’s official candidate is Dilip Rayka but BJP rebel Navnit Patel, who is believed to be close to Ganpat Vasava, has decided not to withdraw from the contest.
Similarly in Patan, Snehal Patel is BJP’s official candidate but Raju Kataria, believed to be close to former state home minister Rajni Patel, has decided not to back out from the contest.
In Surendranagar, BJP’s official candidate is Ishwar Nathubhai Patel but Jesang Chavda, in gross violation of the mandate, has not withdrawn his nomination from the race.
The fourth case is that of Jamnagar, where Rasik Bhanderi is BJP’s mandated candidate. However, Maulik Nathwani, son of a former Gujcomasol director, Dilip Nathwani, has refused to take back his nomination. DeshGujarat.
