Gujarat Police arrest NGO operator Teesta Setalvad in Mumbai

Mumbai: Gujarat Police reached Mumbai today late in the afternoon to nab foreign funded NGO operator Teesta Setalvad according to reports. She was taken to local Santa Cruz police station and later arrested. She was being taken to Ahmedabad for questioning. According to Teesta’s lawyer the arrest is in connection with an FIR filed against her and others on Saturday.
Ahmedabad city Crime Branch has also booked former IPS RB Shreekumar and Sanjeev Bhatt in the FIR. While Shreekumar has been arrested, Sanjeev Bhatt is already in judicial custody.

IPC section 468, forgery for the purpose of cheating.
471, using as genuine a forged document or electronic records
120(B) criminal conspiracy
118 public servant framing Incorrect record or writing.
194 giving or fabricating false evidence with the intent to procure conviction of capital offence.
211 false charge of offence made to injure.
After the Supreme Court rejected all allegations against then Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi in connection with year 2002 riots in its judgement yesterday, the union home minister Amit Shah today in an interview stated how signatures of victims of riots were actually done by NGO operators, and the victims were not even knowing about that. Shah named Teesta Setalwad for several times in his interview and stated how the latest Supreme Court order has exposed the job done by her NGO in collusion with a political party and section of media.
