350 persons relocated from low lying river bank areas of Valsad

Valsad: As many as 350 persons from low lying areas of Valsad city located on the bank of river Auranga were shifted to safer places today by the National Disaster Relief Force (NDRF) jawans as the river received heavy inflow from upstream areas. The areas from where the affected people were relocated to safer places include Barudiyawad, Kashmir Nagar, Lilapor, Tariyawad, Mograwadi and Chhtariya.
Two people were rescued by NDRF team from the bed of river Aurang in Lilapor area. They were laborers working in sand mining activity. One more person was rescued and taken to local hospital for medical treatment. The rescue operation was held in presence of Valsad MLA Bharatbhai Patel.
Valsad municipality had formed six teams and made arrangements for 225 persons at Pardi Gujarati school, while 60 persons were taken to Bejan Bag and 50 persons were taken to Mograwadi Gujarati school. DeshGujarat
